The Tea Drinkers is another one of Bergner’s marvelous surrealistic narratives. This time a group of people, perhaps a family, is drinking tea from a decorative samovar, sitting in a field surrounded by mysterious plants while a fierce group of birds is hovering above.
This is a fine example of Bergner’s famous enigmatic images. His trademark of big, dark and staring eyes, frontal faces, decorative gowns, intimidating birds and nocturnal scene are always a great pleasure.
