In the lovely print Tiberias Gutman portrayed the leisure activities of the city of Tiberias located next to Kineret Lake. These recreational activities were “imported” to Israel by the Jewish European immigrants. Similar to the European artists, the Israeli ones were occupied with this interesting theme as well. The restaurant area is busy and hectic with people sitting, eating and drinking, strolling around, enjoying the fresh air near the lake. The figures are described in slim black silhouettes, Gutman’s familiar style, while their surrounding is rich in lively colors of green, orange, yellow, pink.
