Landscape of the Galil is one of the first works in print Rubin had ever made. It is a striking print showing the pastoral rural area of the Galil, as seen through his romantic and nostalgic eyes. The village at the top of the hill with small white houses and red shiny roofs is surrounded by cypresses and olive trees. As in many of his countryside depictions, Rubin added remote human figures of local peasants leading their donkeys, carrying water, harvesting olives.
This extraordinary work has a striking inner glow that covers the entire print marvelously.
