In the work Jacob’s Dream Rubin returned to one of the most picturesque and imaginary biblical scenes, the visit of the angel to Jacob, son of Yitzhak, during his sleep. In the lithograph, Jacob is lying in a field while an angel is hovering above him. The dominant colors of golden yellow, blue and green emphasize the dynamic movement and the exciting drama taking place once the angel comes off his celestial ladder at the back of the print and reveals himself to Jacob.
