The Huleh Lake, a famous reservoir in the north of Israel, is portrayed by Janco as a pastoral lake surrounded by the edgy mountains of the Galilee. The dominant reds and blues of the mountains capture the beautiful Israeli sunset that colors the landscape in vibrant colors. Janco’s horizontal and diagonal mountain lines are juxtaposed with the vertical lines of the machinery and equipment placed along the banks of the lake ready to dry it. In the past the Lake was considered a hazardous swap, while today it is a flourishing reservoir.
