La parade portrays the traditional annual military march that took place every Independence Day in Israel. Janco presented the marching soldiers grouped in long identical rows along with the artillery equipment and military vehicles passing in front of a patriotic and cheering audience waving its flags at the soldiers. The dark and light contours together with the rich colors flatten the work and intensify its abstract and expressive nature. It is based on an oil painting that Janco had made in 1950.
